A New Start for a New Year

Happy 2016 everyone.
I will make an new start on my Blog and resolve to work harder at it.
My florist shop and Salon de The are happily awaiting their new neighbour, "Papillon" - a Ladies Emporium. Progress is slow due to too much travelling in 2015.

These are espadrilles I made for Janine of Minworks for her future project.

Here is Flora and Salon de The awaiting the new neighbour. Of course they are both still "works in progress".

Here is view through the door of the Salon de The. The "real" canework on the chairs was a real challenge. Some of the cakes were a gift from Elizabeth of StudioEMiniatures.

This is a thread holder made from very old brass mirror mounts and a pincushion from another brass turning. The Australian 5 cent piece is about the size of an American dime.

This will be a counter-top display in the Ladies Emporium. The two rings in the crystal and black blocks are real diamonds from the Argyll Diamond Mine in Australia - one being canary colour and appropriately tiny. The counter-top base is made from a plastic picture frame and the "glass" lid is from a Ferrero Rocher chocolate box.

Today, being in Canada, I'm heading for a much anticipated meeting of the Miniteers!
Greetings to all, Linda

  2. Hi Linda, So happy to see you post and that you are continuing your work on the Salon. It is a wonderful combination of the florist shop, Salon de The and now the ladies clothing store. I wonder what the next shop will be - antiques? Books? Toys? China? The streetscape could take you a lifetime!
    Great work.

  6. Hi Linda, so nice to see you posting again and doing much traveling I think is the best reason to be a little absent! :D I just love your projects and that display looks super! Really nice to have 2 actual diamonds in your rings, they indeed look very much to scale.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment. The diamonds are about the size of a pin head so not too commercially valuable, but lovely to know where they came from.
      Cheers, Linda

  9. Hello Linda....So happy that you have blogged. I am very lucky to have been given a pair of the wonderful espadrille. How wonderful it was to have had a meeting of the 4 of us (miniteers). You certainly were a great addition to the existing trio. I am so proud to know you and appreciate that you share your talents with us. And I do mean talent! I'm still in awe over the macaroon! Looking forward to more postings from you.

  10. Sorry to be so far behind in visiting here Linda, but HOW WONDERFUL Everything looks! I can't get over how Creatively you think OUTSIDE the ( chocolate) box. Using the Ferreo Rocher lid for a glass counter and then filling it with the most Beautifully Delicate as well as REAL miniature jewelry is simply INCREDIBLE! I not only love the diamond rings but also the way you have them mounted.... they look PERFECT! :D
And now I am really looking forward to seeing how you convert the stash of craft items you left Canada with. I'm sure you'll be busy playing and re-inventing, and I am already anticipating even More of your BRILLIANT Linda's Mini Creations!
    You Go Girl!!!!! :D
